Solidor

Solid 48mm timber-core composite doors

Solidor is the only major UK composite door manufactured around a solid 48mm timber core โ€” the timber giving the door its weight, sound, and presence; the composite skin and engineered locking giving it the security and longevity that timber alone cannot.

The result is a door that, when you push it open, feels exactly the way a front door should feel โ€” substantial, quiet, planted. The standout choice for homeowners who want the unmistakable feel of a quality timber door without any of the maintenance.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What's the real-world difference between Solidor and a foam-core composite? +
Weight, sound and feel. A Solidor is roughly twice as heavy as a foam-core door โ€” which translates to a quieter close, more solid feel and a slight premium in thermal mass. For many of our customers, this is the deciding factor.
How secure is a composite door? +
Every door we install is PAS24:2016 accredited and Secured by Design. Combined with a Yale 3-star or Ultion cylinder it represents the highest level of front-door security available on the residential market.
Will it warp or fade in the sun? +
Composite doors are stable across temperature extremes โ€” no warping, no swelling, no shrinking. The colour finishes are GRP-bonded and rated for 25+ years of UK weather.
Can I get a matching back door? +
Yes โ€” we typically supply matching front and back doors as a package, often with a small discount for combined installation.
What's the lead time? +
Most doors are surveyed within a week and manufactured in 2โ€“4 weeks. Installation itself takes a single morning.
